BALUN          

Balun ist eine der nördlichen Inseln im Natonalpark Kornaten. Vom Ankerplatz in Richtung SO stoßt du in ca. 20m auf die Steilwand. Folge der Steilwand (rechte Schulter) bis zu einem Felsrücken der sich in S Richtung erstreckt. Speziell die O Seite ist mit Gorgonien (auch hellgelbe!) und Schwämmen dichtest bedeckt. Der Bewuchs ist hier so dicht wie auf kaum einem anderen lokalen Tauchplatz. Eine andere Möglichkeit ist, am Felsrücken abzutauchen bis zu einem kleinen Plateau unter dem sich die oben beschriebene Wand befindet. Balun is one of the more northern Kornati islands. Swim to the SE till you approach the wall in 20m depth. Follow the wall with your right shoulder until you hit a ridge that goes southward. The eastern part in 26m after a small terrace is covered with red fan corals and sponges in a unique density. The growth and multifold of the Gorgonians are really impressive here. An alternative route is to follow the wall westward and then the ridge to the south till the small terrace. Distance from Murter: 19 M Levels: all BACK to SELECTION
