CITY TOURS
The culture in Croatia and Dalmatia developed early a tie to the Mediterranean culture. There are many traces from the byzanthean period and the Roman Emperors. Under the influence of Venice a special gothic style developed in the 15th century. One of the most impressive representatives of this period is Juraj Dalmatinac. This remarkable artist has greatly influenced the cities of Split and Zadar. His most impressive work is the cathedrale of Sibenik, which UNESCO has taken into its collection of historical, cultural monuments world wide. These three cities are easily accessable for a day trip from Murter. On the way to Split you should also visit Trogir - one of the oldest cities of Croatia. Further info e.g.:
